Leveraging historical trial databases has become commonplace in assessing the feasibility of trials in therapeutic areas with a large breadth of clinical development history. In the future, clinical trials are going to come down to the patient level, similar to how therapies are moving toward personalisation based on biomarkers, genetics and more.
